Do Be Mindful

At Shaw Mhor we are proud to be able to offer the Do Be Mindful programme to our young people. Research studies have shown that teaching mindfulness in education is likely to improve children's emotional wellbeing, mental health and interpersonal relationships.  When we teach Mindfulness to children we are really teaching them the art and science of learning how to shift their attention and to self-regulate. By teaching Mindfulness we are showing them that they need to practise these skills regularly in order to improve them.

 

Do-BeMindful Activities for Early Years are divided into three themes:

  • Breathe and Begin – to help us pause, focus and connect with our breath and the present moment.
  • Pause and Practice – to help us to develop healthy habits of mind and manage our everyday emotions.
  • Relax and Reflect – to help us relax, reflect and reconnect with ourselves and others.
