Babies and toddlers are provided with lunch at 11.30 a.m. within their playrooms. Children in Nursery 1, 2 & 3 are served lunch between 11.45 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. in the campus dining hall. There is also a snack provided for children morning and afternoon. The costs for lunch and snack are included together with any charges for extended day in the invoice issued by Glasgow City Council Early Years Charging Team. We do not accept payment, for extended hours or food provided, within the establishment. This will be included in your bill.
Cordia supply all food within our establishment and we are provided with healthy eating options in line with nutritional guidance for early years, food choices for children aged 1-5 years in early education and childcare settings (Scottish Executive, 2006) and fun first foods (Scottish Government, 2013). Parents/Carers of children who have allergies or require a special diet should inform the Management Team at enrolment and we will ensure this is provided as and when required.
Children and young people of parents/carers receiving Income Support, income-based Job Seekers Allowance, Working Tax Credit (where income is less than £6900) and Child Tax Credit only (where income is less that £16105) are entitled to a free midday meal. Information and application forms for free establishment meals may be obtained from Reception and from Grants Section at Education Services headquarters. All children enjoy fruit, milk and water during both part time and full time placements.
